The questions at the center
How do people cooperate and provide for one another? What makes something valuable? Who controls resources, whose work counts, and how do power and belief shape economic life?
Essays can follow a practice across societies or stay with a particular community, object, place, or period. The subjects include gift economies, mutual aid, trade, subsistence, kinship, care, ritual, inequality, ecology, and technological change.
